How To Move From Blogger to WordPress!

Hi everyone!

Today is going to be about how to move your blog from Blogger to WordPress. This guide is going to be for people who choose to buy a domain name and use WordPress CMS (also known as WordPress.org). If you are not sure what I’m talking about then check out my first post Introduction To WordPress – Thinking About Switching From Blogger?

I’m going to start with listing the steps you will be going through before explaining each of them.

  1. Buy a domain name and webhotel
  2. Install WordPress
  3. Change the permalinks
  4. Import posts and comments from Blogger
  5. Setup a theme and pages
  6. Move your Bloglovin’ followers

Step 1: Buy a Domain Name

Start by buying a domain name and a webhotel to go with it. If you don’t know what a webhotel is, it’s the online space you buy to upload your things on the internet so it’s kind of like your “harddisk.” I use unoeuro.com which I’m happy with, but find one that works for you.

Step 2: Install WordPress

Hi everyone!

Today I want to discuss Pinterest. I’m really into Pinterest at the moment, I have had my Pinterest for a couple of years now, but sometimes I just use it more than other times.

What I Love About Pinterest!

I love Pinterest for personal use as well as for my blog. For personal use I think it’s great to find inspiration, I always use it to find pictures of different things. Instead of doing a Google image search I will be doing a Pinterest search. The reason this is often better is that Google is filled with things from the entire internet whereas Pinterest is filled with the things people have pinned, liked and repinned.

I also like the way you can get a better and more precise search on Pinterest. If you search for a celebrity, it will come up with ideas to narrow it down based on what other people have been looking for like makeup, body, haircut, 2013, 2014, style, etc.

Pinterest For Your Blog

People are often discussing doing Twitter chats it they should use Pint...

Hi everyone!

It seems like you are all happy with my SEO Guide series, so that’s why I will be doing some more blogposts in the same series with small tips for every blogpost you write.

Internal and external linking

Todays blogpost will be about internal and external linking. Just to refresh everyone’s memory if you are not sure what the difference is between internal and external linking. Internal linking is when you link to a page on you blog, it could be an old blogpost or something else. External linking is when you link to another website, which could be where you bought your bag or something.

How to write your links

You often see people write; you can buy the bag here. It could also be; read more about my thoughts on this product here.

The reason this is bad SEO is that Google doesn’t know what “here” is. Google doesn’t know “here” is referring back to the bag you were talking about earlier, which is on your picture.

Instead you should write something like; you c...

How To: Permalinks In WordPress

working_your_permalinks

Hi people!

Today is going to be about permalinks in WordPress. When you start a Google Blogger blog, you are sure that Google know your blog and will try to make it search friendly. When you start a WordPress blog, then it’s your own job to do these things. One thing you can do is to look at your permalinks. When people search for something on Google like “About Tanja Mortensen” then Google crawl links and try to find something that looks similar to the search. This is where permalinks are important! How should Google know what tanjamortensen.com/?p=123 is? If it’s called tanjamortensen.com/about, then Google will know this site has something to do with about Tanja Mortensen. This doesn’t solve all SEO problems, but will make a start.

How to change your permalinks

Go to your settings, permalinks and then choose a way to show your post-URL or decided for yourself like I did, I made mine tanjamortensen.com/category/post-title...
